Hi,

I am having problems to play http streaming on VLC for Android.
Playlists with some characters (like "?") are converted to HMTL entities and the app doesn't recognize the address. No problem wit VLC for PC.
Just inserting and http address or reading a playlist with http content, characters are changed to html entities.
Coding m3u file to unicode or other coding does not work.

Any solution?

I think I have a similar problem. It occurs only with the Android version and does not occur under windows.

Until some months ago VLC played links (in firefox) to the webserver on my satellite receiver automatically. After an update it only reports "m3u stream", asks you to open it, but subsequently reports "unable to open link" and nothing happens. Same thing occurs in other browsers.

The browser offers a list of stations on the receiver with a VLC logo. If I clicked the logo it used to automatically open the program stream. Entering the stream manually in VLC doesn't work either.

The firefox-VLC combination under Windows functioned and still functions perfectly.

I am unable to find any usable answers on the internet.

The webbrowser on the satellite STB runs on linux and I have not enough knowledge to tweak it. As it still functions automatically under Windows, I don't think that would be the main problem. I looked into the settings part of the VLC app, but could not find a clue.

I tried other IPTV apps, but that didn't help either.

Is there something I overlooked?
