Subtitles and unwanted folders

Postby Bashyman » 30 Jun 2020 12:05

Hi,
I'm running VLC (Version 3.2.12) on an Nvidia shield and have two issues that I need help with.
Firstly, since downloading the last update, sometimes I can't seem to download new subtitle's. brings an error of
An error occured

Even when I find a subtitle, I click on download, the icon changes for a split second then foes back to disc, but doesn't give the tick and doesn't download the subtitle

The other problem I have is when I go into the root folder of one of my drives, the have extra folders that I don't want visible (Nvidia_Shield/System Volume Information/Android/Lost.Dir and $recycle.bin)
I've tried deleting these folders from the drive in windows explorer when plugged into laptop, but they appear again. Is there anyway of hiding these folders?

Thanks

Hide them by using the .nomedia trick inside the folder

Put a file named ".nomedia" (with the beginning dot but without quotes) into the folders you want to hide.

Thanks. I'm seeing more that when a subtitle is available, i click to download it and the disc icon looks like it's changing, but instead of changing to a tick, it goes back to a disc and subtitle not downloaded.
Cheers
