VLC Beta selecting folder vs opening

So with the new beta if clicking a the thumbnails of a folder it now selects it vs opening it
This is when folders are displayed as a list
Can the behaviour be changed so a long press is needed to select the folder?
Figure more people want to open the folder vs select it
Clicking on the folder name works fine
