icecast radio stations not chrome casting to smart tv

Hello!
The icecast radio stations are not casting to my smart tv. When i go to playback and renderer and select my chrome cast device, which is my smart tv, it will not play on my tv. The station splash screen image is there....and showing that it is trying to connect, but nothing is happening or playing. Funny, when i try the jamendo selections it does play on my chromecast device which is my smart tv. Why do not the icecast radio stations play on my smart tv thru chromecast. Something is not right with the vlc player i think. Can someone help explain this. thank you.
