Virtual machine for Android development

Postby sybarisfr » 02 Dec 2019 22:25

Hi

I saw this wiki page https://wiki.videolan.org/AndroidCompile/ for the install of android studio and other tools.
Don't you have any Virtual Machine ready for this ?
Or any web site provide an android studio in a VM ?
I make a try with virtualbox, but I have a problem to launch a virtual device :-(
I had the error "Your CPU does not support required features (VT-x or SVM)."

Hi

After some tests, Virtualbox 6.0, is not able to support VT-x or SVM features on an Intel CPU.
VirtualBox 6.1 (currenlty in beta) seems to be able, but I had some other bugs, so, I have decided to use vmware 15.5.1 instead.

Here some usefull links :
- How to setup the VM & android studio : https://linuxhint.com/vmware_android_apps_studio
- Some more links to help to use an hardware phone instead of an emulator:

I hope these links will help if someone has the same needs like me.

Sybaris
