Failed to delete media

Whenever I try to delete a Video on my SD card through VLC, i receive the following error "Failed to delete media FILENAME", it works fine if the video is stored locally.

I have all the correct permissions, I have tried un-installing and re-installing and clearing the app cache.

I have the issue on the latest Public version and beta.

I am Running Android 9 on a Samsung Galaxy S8.

I have a S8 with Android 9 and a SD card and it works fine.

Did you correctly grand VLC write access to your SD Card, with Google crappy dialog?

You have to go to top level of your SD card in this pseudo-browser in dialog box, and click 'SELECT', then VLC can delete files in your whole SD Card.
(Yes, it's complicated for nothing but Google imposes it).

I have S8 running Android 9 with the July Security Patch

VLC 3.2.0-beta-2 but had the issue on previous versions

It did work previously, not sure what has changed

I believe that i have granted the privileges correctly

Sometimes it works but i get the failed message, sometimes i have to do it a second time and then refresh
