Watched movies are not marked

Watched movies are not marked
Hi,
I have installed VLCplayer on my TV Sony KD-55AF8. This TV has an Android system installed (Version 7).
I have the latest VLCplayer installed. My movies are installed on my Synology disk station (DS216j) and the user has rights for read/write.
Everything runs fine and VLCplayer is still my favorite for years. On my Android-Phone, TV and my PC.
Now I need help because of the following:
In the options of VLCplayer there is somewhere an option that I still activated, to mark watched movies. BUT if I watch a movie, there is no mark there, absolute nothing.
Can someone help me with this out? How to make VLCplayer mark the watched movies with a symbol or something like that, that differentiates the watched from the not watched movies?
