VLC for Chromebook cannot access the media files on the microSD card in my Chromebook 3. It can't even see the SD card. Any workaround for this or is this impossible for Chrome OS?

This is likely due to ChromeOS.
I talked about it to Google, we are waiting for their feedback.

Hello..
What I was able to do to get the videos to play was select "Files" app. From within the Files app, go to your SD card and configured VLC as your default player. When you open the video file, VLC will open the file and play it.
Afterwards, the video will then be listed in the VLC history and you can watch it again.
But, being able to see and play the video files directly from within VLC would be nice.
I've even tried Archos Video Player which can see the SD card and downloads the metadata for your files, etc., told it to link to VLC as an external player, but when this occurs, VLC reports that the file link location can not be found. Not sure which is having the issue.
Thanks..

Archos Video Player can read the SD Card on Chromebooks? I'll take another look then.
Also, you can drag& drop files from 'Files' to VLC app on Chromebook (and Samsung DeX)
