Mystery icons

Postby mr-b » 01 May 2018 19:13

Hi

Is there any way to label all the mystery icons that VLC uses?

For example if I tap on the three dots icon while a video is playing then 10 icons pop up which are not self-explanatory at all. They are not even in the Android VLC wiki.
They look mostly like these.

I forget what they mean all the time and am rather sick of trial and error (mostly the latter!), when some simple function text labels would make it so much easier.

Long press on these icons to get their name.

Thanks.

Why these couldn't just be added as labels beats me (like in the audio menu) ...

So for anyone else the top three lines of icons are:

Sleep timer, Playback speed, Jump to time
Play as audio, Subtitle delay, Audio delay
Play video in a pop-up window, Repeat mode

Sure the icons make sense reading the label and then the icon but certainly not the other way round after a gap in usage!

This precise UI is difficult, because if we show labels, it's too much for phone screens.
And without, it's hard to guess :s

Long press is the standard way on Android to get an image label.
