Android TV VLC - play DVD from folder (VIDEO_TS)

Hi, does the VLC for Android (TV) supports playing ripped DVDs from VIDEO_TS folder. I have a DVD on the storage connected to my TV but VLC is showing "empty folder" message when I navigate to the DVD's folder.
It is definitely working on VLC for Windows. It would be great if I can play DVDs also on the big screen.
Thank you.

On Android, we only support ISO, so far.

Ohh, that's fine too. I've created iso image from the folder and now I can see it in the VLC. Thank you.

Hi,
I use VLC for Fire TV and I have problems with the DVD menu. I can't click the different menu items of the DVD. Is there a special way / command for this on Fire TV? I ripped a DVD as *.iso file. The iso file works perfect on windows 10 pc with VLC. So the iso was correct ripped because all the menu items are clickable under windows. On the Fire TV with VLC no way to select the dvd menu items. So the dvd performs the initial menu in an infinite loop...
Is this a bug or is it just a lack of knowledge how to use VLC correct on Fire TV?
Did search quite a lot with google but couldn't find a solution nor any other who faces the same problem.
And of course I would like to use the iso format because I would like to have the whole menu items of the dvd, too. So a suggested solution e.g. in only ripping all the video files to select them manually via browsing is not a wanted solution for me.
But maybe there is another way to have the whole DVD content with the complete menu in which format? to be usable with VLC for Fire?
Currently I'm using VLC for Android 2.5.12. Btw. why is the official version from the Amazon Store an older version? I guess it was 2.1.11
Thanks in advance!
BR, Florian

Amazon rejects VLC updates because of a medialibrary migratio issue.
As 2.1.11 was a beta version, this was not ready at the time.
So we don't have any solution, we can just hope that Amazon will stop blocking the updates.

Ok, but I used 2.5.12 on the Fire TV and the DVD Menu doesn't work with this version, too.
Any idea regarding the menu issue?
Edit: Just installed the newest beta 2.5.17 on my android phone...same issue regarding the DVD menu. No items are clickable.
Best regards,
Florian

Is this issue addressed? Where can I see the release notes of the android nightlies?
I can test a new version If available.
Best regards,

VLC-Android-2.9.0-20180130-0107-ARMv8.apk
Menu items don't work on a DVD iso image with this version.

Can anybody confirm this bug? Or am I the only one who is experiencing this problem with ISO Files and not working DVD menu under Android (mobile) and FireTV?

ISO file menus don't work for me either (menu options can't be selected, and the default selected option doesn't activate) on VLC 3.0.5 on stock Android 6.0.1 on a S2 tab.
They work fine in Kodi.
