Homegroup on Android: "The location cannot be played"

Hello!
-I have managed to set up my homegroup on my Windows 10 computer to include the (video) folder I want by adding that folder to the overall video folder shared in the homegroup.
-In VLC on my Android device (Galaxy Tab S2), I can open this folder and see all the files inside correctly.
--->However, whenever I try to play one of the files, I get the error message: "The location http://blablablanumbersandstuff cannot be played."
Please help me figure out what's going wrong here!
