vlc android doesn't find fonts

VLC 2.0.6 Revision 30ebb0d VLC: b4b26b9 (2016-08-12)
Samsung Note 5 SM-N920A
Android 7.0
VLC log :
05-03 04:06:21.411 W/VLC/VLCApplication(10394): ErrorMessage VLC could not open the file "/system/etc/system_fonts.xml" (No such file or directory).
05-03 04:06:21.411 W/VLC/VLCApplication(10394): ErrorMessage VLC could not open the file "/system/etc/fallback_fonts.xml" (No such file or directory).
05-03 04:06:21.411 W/VLC/VLCApplication(10394): ErrorMessage VLC could not open the file "/vendor/etc/fallback_fonts.xml" (No such file or directory).
On my phone the fonts are in /system/etc/fonts.xml
If I have it right, this is the new list of fonts. There is a suggestion that the devices keep the older list, as well, for use by older applications. It seems in my case that ATT/Samsung did not.
This lack of backward communicability prevents VLC from displaying subtitles that use the CJK fonts.
