Can I use VLC to see the videos from my PC to TV

Hello experts,
I want to see the videos from my computer to my TV. Is it possible? What should I do. Your help would be appreciated.

Best way I've found to stream videos from computer to TV:
- Buy 2nd generation (2016) Amazon Fire TV stick.
- Sideload VLC for Android (ARMv7).
- Set up SMB host for file sharing.
- Place videos to stream on SMB share.
- Browse to SMB folder in VLC.

Yes,u can open videos via SMB share.
