I tried to play an m2ts file on Android 6 (Sony Xperia M5, vlc 2.0.6) and on Android TV (Sony KD-49XD8305) in both cases I get only the sound.
Hope I get the the German error message correct translated - error in hardware acceleration, software decoding is used.
The same video is played on my Sony TV with kodi.
