Fast forward doesn't work when streaming ts containers

I often stream recorded tv broadcasts from my Satellite Harddisk Receiver Kathrein UFS922 on my Android tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 by the VLC for Android App, v2.0.3. The receiver is saving the records in TS containers.
I start streaming the records by calling the web frontend of the receiver in Firefox which is listing all recorded files. Selecting a file is opeining the VLC player which is playing the file. So far so good.
But the fast forward doesn't work. If I try to tap the progressbar, nothing happens. But in this way I'm not able to skip the commercials. Or if I stop a movie I have to start with the beginning again on next day. Has anybody an idea what goes wrong?

I know, that it worked in past with a former version of VLC player.

The downloaded ts file works fine both with VLC for Windows and Android.

But if this works, the command for "jumping forward" seems not to be handed over to the sat receiver, or the sat receiver is not able to interprete the command in the right manner. But neither I changed anything in the network nor the firmware of the sat receiver. Only the VLC Media Player App on my Galaxy Tab is being updated from time to time.
I will try another thing: Copying the ts file to another network drive and trying to play and jump from this source.

That means that your server does not allow seek.

But he did it in past and the firmware has not been changed. That's why I'm a little bit confused.

Hi Jean,

I've made further tests.
If I try to access to the media server at my satellite harddisk receiver by VLC for Windows (2.1.5 Rincewind), it works fine including jumping to other positions. Or if I copy the TS file to my Internet Router which acts as a media server, too, I'm also able to access with VLC for Windows including jumping. Means the media server(s) support seeking.
Only the VLC for Android App don't like to jump to other positions within the TS record when streaming via network.

2.1.5 is old. Use 2.2.4 or 3.0

Thanks for the hint. I will update it. Nevertheless this doesn't explain the difference between VLC for Windows (which is able to jump to another time position) and VLC for Android (which is not able to jump)

Hi Jean,
Since I have updated my Windows VLC Player to the recommended 2.2.4 it is not longer able to play my ts container files, neither from satellite receiver nor from my NAS drive. Now I have uninstalled it and have reinstalled the old Rincewind 2.1.3 - and it works fine again!

I assume that I have a similar problem with my VLC for Android, which was able to play and jump in past. I will search now for an oboslete VLC version to install it on my tablet computer.

The issue is back on latest release and I would like to be informed when it will be fixed
