VLC 2.0.1 cannot play some files from SMB share

I have interesting problem with VLC 2.0.1 Android version. For some reason it refuses to play some files from SMB share. Same files play normally if I try Windows version of VLC, so problem is version specific. Also if I copy those files to my Galaxy Tab S2 internal storage I can play them normally with no problem. So far files which do not work from SMB share have all been in avi format.

I tried playing with files names to see if that would fix the problem, but even renaming file to a.avi does not fix it.
