i paly hls but can not pause and also can not seek

so why there is no pauses when playing hls and mepg-dash?

Because vlc does not recognizes your stream as 'pausable'

Sorry to ressurect an old thread.
I find the same on VLC 3.0.18 on Windows 10

It can be seen on this live stream: https://cph-p2p-msl.akamaized.net/hls/l ... aster.m3u8

If paused, when restarting, VLC restarts playback from a different point.

Is it the same issue? (VLC does not see the stream as pausable)

This stream can be paused in Chrome Native HLS playback.
