All,

I am a complete noob to android. I just got my first Android devise (was an apple man) and I am hoping to use VLC player as my media player of choice.

I am however having difficulty with the player remembering my last location when I return to a movie or audio file.

Is there a preference that I need to set somewhere that I am completely missing?

This should already be done for videos.

Thanks for the response, however it is not working for me.

Every time I leave / close the app and return later, the movies start over.

Is there a setting somewhere that I may have set incorrectly?

Do you start the videos from the video browser within VLC?

Same problem here. Resume doesn't work with the confirmation option checked either.

Also doesn't matter if I open the video from the internal file browser or from any external file managers.

Weird. Are you using the latest version of VLC for Android?

Yessir, latest version.

I also had the resume not working issue until I got to the bottom of the problem.

There`s 2 latest versions. Googleplay ver is at V1.3 while the latest APK file is at V1.4.1 level which can be downloaded from:

I thought it was beta version but those are the nightly 1.5 versions. Anyway I installed the VLC-Android-1.4.1-ARMv7.apk and the resume works as it should perfectly (even if the option is selected to ask for resume confirmation). Hope this helps. How if only I find find way to adjust speed on mp3 files since speed adjustment works only on video files.

I am still trying to determine why resume does not work for me. Sometimes it works, most of the time it does not. I've not verified this yet, but it may be that when I initially load a video thru the ES File Manager (drilling down the folder containing the video), it will not resume properly and begins playing from the start. This is just supposition at this point. I haven't narrowed down the few instances in which the resume feature works. When it fails to resume, as it does most of the time, I have to think back to how I initially loaded the video. Could the ES File Manager be problem? At this point I can't be certain.
