Ok, So I have tried many things and I can't get some Japanese subtitles to be display from the option: "Select Subtitle file" english subtitles that come in the video work fine, but when I click on "Select Subtitle file" option and chose the Japanese subs, nothing happens, I have change the "Subtitle text enconding" to different options and nothing. This subs work just fine in my PC with VLC. but I can't get them to work on android.

What am I doing wrong?

I'll suppose it's just not possible to use separate subs!

Have you tried to change the subtitle encoding in the preferences?

I have, No I get saquares with an X
