I created a folder and named all the tracks as beginning with zero and then the number ie: 01. 02. 03. 04. 05. I thought if I did it this way the folder would naturally arrange itself in the order I want and would appear accordingly in vlc. I discovered it was not working that way at all. the order seems to completely randomized as if it were ignoring the track title. I even erased the track # as one of the properties, thinking that was the reason. But there has been no change. How do i need to label the track files so that they will arrange themselves in the order I want.

Are the filenames arranged in order?

Nope.I even tried #s without 0s and that still didn't work. I went back and replaced the Arabic with Roman numerals which did the trick.
