VLC Video to TV?

Question: can the VLC video/audio be output to a TV either using standard mini video plug to RCA jacks or wireless without another app like "iMediaShare Personal"?

Searched for man using "manual VLC for Android" both with and no " but found nothing relevant then searched forum same results.

Googled using " and found "How to play video from your phone on your TV" http://www.tweaking4all.com/home-theatr ... one-on-tv/ Seems there can be hardware problems but since it is over yr old the cable problems may have been solved.

Thanks

Ken

If the TV supports Miracast, it should be enabled. Check for "secondary display" in preferences.

edwardw,

Thanks for the tip.

Forgot to mention my cell phone is a ZTE Zinger with Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 8210 SOC. Checked https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapd ... essors/200 but did not find any mention of Miracast.
Was surprised it had "720p playback with H.265 (HEVC)".

Checked Miracast wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miracast is it same as "Wi-Fi Direct"

Checked http://www.wi-fi.org/product-finder-res ... 4&items=30 and found both ZTE and Qualcomm. Plus have found "Wi-Fi Direct" in manual.

Forgot to mention in original post that I hope there is a way to get analogue video/audio output to a TV using standard mini video plug to RCA jacks.

I have done this with my Canon digital camera and have the necessary video/audio cables.

Something like https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/2865484 should be representative of connecting to a screen.

Once it is connected VLC should detect and handle this automatically (if enabled in preferences).
