Capture/Record streaming video using VLC Android?

Hello.

Is there a way to use VLC for Android to capture/record a streaming video being watched on an Android tablet?

I've never been able to figure out how to do it with VLC for Windows. Maybe doing it on my tablet would be easier?

(If you can help, please explain it to me one step at a time. Thank you.)

Unfortunately since Android doesn't support v4l2 we are unable to offer recording.
