VLC Android to Roku?

Is there any way VLC on Android can stream my content from my Nexus 7 to my Roku 3? I know VLC supports many fiile types but a lot of the apps I've tried don't support mkv or avi it mainly supports mp4.
The Roku Media player now supports dlna so is there any way or is anything like this coming in the future?

VLC on Android can play streams but cannot stream to other devices yet.

I have been using Universal Media Server It works 2/5 quality for streaming from a server to the roku using the Roku media channel. I hope VLC releases a free Roku Channel

Thanks for the post. We too would like play our songs & videos etc. to our 'plain old' DLNA TV from our Droid tablet.
So we now ask: has this feature/capability been considered as such? If so, where should we be looking for a progress update?
Thanks again.

No, to date, there has been no progress on this feature to my knowledge.
