I got VLC for the ipad, and that allows wifi uploading, but the android version doesn't seem to have it.
Is that correct, or is it hidden somewhere?

If it isn't hidden, I would have assumed that the mobile version of VLC would be the same codebase for all devices ?

It was meant to be for android...

Sorry, your original post started with VLC for ipad and mentions WiFi Uploading (an iOS-only feature), so my first instinct was move to iOS section...

Anyways, no, only the core playback code is identical across all devices. We code and tailor the UI for each platform separately.
