Can anyone confirm that the player will play the majority of files/codecs on the Asus Transformer and as good as on Windows?

REGARDS,

Of course not. :P </sarcasm>

Try it for yourself! We don't have access to every single device in the world. http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/arm ... 1-0126.apk

The reason I ask is that I'm thinking of getting a TF700T and need to know what I can expect before laying out a considerable amount of cash.

This is the reality as it is. The VideoLAN team certainly does not have an infinite stash of devices, and as stated it is a beta version. https://videolan.org/vlc/download-android.html

For devices that VideoLAN team members do have, we test and ensure that it works thoroughly to the best of our efforts.

With 1.6 Ghz ARMv7 Tegra3 you can probably get 720p (with adequate settings), but we can't guarantee. Search the forum perhaps.
