Bluetooth audio question, etc.

Postby dinnerplate_extreme » 03 May 2013 17:19

Hi, I've found I actually quite like the app on a basic level for music, but have noticed a few niggles.

* The database seem to be rescanned (nowhere near as long as the first time it does it, but still) every time the app is opened. It holds up the entire program, so I'd hope that would be changed by the time of full release.
* VLCfA seems to "forget" its place. If I pause a track, do other stuff and then try to play where I left off; well, I can't. I have to search for a new track to play every time that happens (presumably the program closed in memory).

Other than that, it seems to work fast and I like its minimalist approach compared to Winamp for Android and other players I've seen; but there's one feature that I would like to know a bit more about:

* When I enable bluetooth on my GS3 to play music via my car's audio system (Mazda CX-5), no track ID data is transmitted. I've noticed this is an issue with other players, particularly Winamp for Android, and well, it's kind of one of those small things that bugs me every time I get in my car. Is there some issue in Android that makes it difficult to transmit track ID's to my car? Is it a known shortcoming and being worked on? So far the only player that I know that does it is the music player that came with my phone, and I don't like that one much at all in any other way.

Anyway, thanks.

Yes, but we need to be able to know about any new/deleted media files.

Works for me in latest nightlies.

No idea. You can try and file a bug in trac with details if you wish.
