Nexus 7 Jelly Bean 4.2 & VLC Volume Issues

Hi there,
Im having trouble with volume issues on VLC beta - the program runs great, there are a few bugs which I'm reporting diligently but this one I thought I should mention in the boards.

Some video's, not all, have volume issues in VLC beta for Android. The file plays fine on my PC in VLC, but when I copy the very same file without any changes to it at all and then play it with VLC Beta, the volume whilst there, is inaudible. With the device on max volume you can hear there is talking (in say a talking scene with no loud background noises), however you cannot make out what they are saying. Headphones are your only option.
Other files, which also play fine in VLC on the desktop exhibit the same behavior.

I did do a search on "nexus 7 VLC Volume Issues" amongst other searches, and only found a thread relating to the Nexus 10, hence I started this one.
I'll add to to it as I learn more.

Thanks in advance for any help, support or suggestions. Many thanks!

P.S - Tomorrow I'll make a video difference showing it playing a couple of different files which play well, and not well, and compare that to general audio out volume from the Nexus 7 as a whole. Watch this space!

Small Update - I was in the process of making some comparison videos when I realised that the content was questionable. Not Pron (that's kept elsewhere of course) but lets just say re-posting videos of things that shouldn't be in the public domain yet might be stupid at best. Why not just post my house address and sit at the large round door in handcuffs with a blank cheque ready.....

Then use something like Big Buck Bunny to do your testing.
