I'm not sure if this is the proper way because the way i saw looked as if the program crashed then report. But anyways i'm having a problem of changing the root to find my music on my sdcard same device

I don't quite follow what you are trying to say. Do you mean that VLC crashed while trying to change the root?

No I'm sorry let me retry. When I go into the preferences and try to change the Root to External mount @ /mnt/sdcard-ext. It will not change from Internal memory nor will it scroll down if there is a button I have to press.

Ah you mean the Root dialog is overflowing? This should be fixed in the nightlies soon.

I have XT910 which is (I think) the same model as Droid RAZR.
I had the same problem before the last update (overflow) and with the last update its fixed, thank you!
But now I cannot choose which directory will be displayed when the application starts. It always starts with the root folder although I have chosen (through preferences/directories/) another folder (sdcard-ext/mobile/music/). It seems to have saved my setting but it ignores it. Two versions before it worked.
I hope for a new update!

Well, the root option was removed in the latest version anyway, so this is all obsolete
