Hi Guys,

It is clearly written that it supports external subtitle like srt but i cannot see how to put them. I dont see any subtitle folder neither on preferences or elsewhere!!
Can you give me a small hand how to add subtitle to the vid?
Huge thanks guys

I think VLC should automatically detect external subtitles if they are named the same as the video file, for example: video.mp4 and video.srt in the same folder.

Hmm sounds pretty complicated...If you take MX Video, you can add whatever subtitles very easy without changing the name and putting it in the same folder.
It must be simplier no? When they say they support it there might be a preference settings or folder no?
Many thanks again

How would that work with many subtitles and movies?

well you just play the movie and that you have an option to select the subtitle linked to the movie and that's it.
So i am sure there is something on VLC to play the subtitle. It cannot be to put the subtitle in the same folder and be sure it is the same name. It can work, but god it will be just difficult....
Might be aan other way no? more simple?

And that, in your opinion, is easier than just having a subtitle file for every movie/episode with the same name and the extension .srt that is selected automagically when you start the movie ?
Imagine a folder with 22 episodes/movies and 22 subtitle files with different names ...

Personally i prefer to have the choice, on which folders to put them and what name to give them.
Cause most of the time when you download subtitles from the net, they dont have the same name, or slightly difference one than the videos
And to change names with a mobile phone, just a bit of hassle which in my view could be avoided.
Cheers and it remain my view only

This is the only option for now, although we may consider it for a future release.

Hi everybody,
it doesn't work for me on Samsung Galaxy S3, even if .srt and .wmv files have the same name.
When I renamed them a new "T" icon appeared in the video, but even if I choose "Track1" I can't see any subtitle...
Any suggestion please?
Thank you,
D
