Hi, could you please try a nightly build and see if it works: http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/and ... -debug.apk

thanx
- first sorry for thr delay

- second (good to know may be to add in the how to get log) jelly bean have changed the permission of application to read logcat (so using terminal limit the access to the log), so I used adb to grep the log

- I tested the nightly build and here the details
vlc start correctly using music part (only artist tab is activated but this is not the problem :) )
when I switch to video part i have the same issue (vlc craches)
I pastbin the log (filtering the vlc log part)

ok
I think there is a new issue, for the vlc playstore version I was able to start vlc with one movie on the pad (it crashes when there is more than a movie)
but with the new debug version it craches with only one movie
I pastebin another log using a different movie http://pastebin.com/FRNz8n2Y

There is another thread on this. viewtopic.php?f=35&t=102702

I tried the nightly, it does the same thing, a couple of seconds after switching to video.

I posted the logcat
it seems to be a kind of memory leak or stack corruption

Hello every one I have news,
I recompiled vlc from the last repo and by magic the application works like a charm, I don't know why or how but the compiled version works fine
the unsigned apk https://dl.dropbox.com/u/11019056/VLC-r ... signed.apk if a developper could sign it for us :)
the debug apk (it works for me) https://dl.dropbox.com/u/11019056/VLC-debug.apk

Of course, there were some fixes by etix that fixed some problems with the thumbnailer.

Also official nightly builds are available here so you don't have to compile: http://nightlies.videolan.org/

I am running the latest nightly...revision f43a68f

I am on Paranoid Android 2.2 JB 4.1.2

I was able to get the first beta release installed and running by duping the ui into 275 dpi, audio was constantly out of sync with hardware decoding enabled.

Latest release is running great! Nexus 7 16Gb ParanoidAndroid 2.2, Android 4.1.2 base, stock kernel
