i have password protected http stream links that can play on desktop VLC without any problem by entering username and password.
on android it does not ask for user details and also do not play video.

any way to play http stream links that requires user name and password ?

No, start a bug on that.

because of it does not crash, it does not create a log file. just i enter the http link and it does show only play button below the screen and nothing happens. can you please check a password protected stream links ?

everyday i check the nightly builds to see if this is fixed but so far no any news. i hope http authorised links can be played on VLC.
