Requesting automatic updating within debug build

Hi, I just installed the debug build due to the Play Store build being unavailable to me in the US. Is it possible to update this build from within the app as is done with the Firefox for Android Nightly and Flipboard Beta builds? I'm trying to avoid having to sideload the .apk every time a new build is published.
Thanks!

So far, this is not planned.

I think if this is implemented, this might be a good way to push out more beta updates to the app. This debugging period will also be helpful because of the amount of USA people that are sideloading the app to their respective devices. This will give the vlc development team more sources to work from and more widespread reporting to help make the app official. Just my $0.02.

Well, we lack developers, not testers, to be honest
