No sound on immediately reopening any video

This issue exists from several previous releases. When I'm playing a video and I go back but I don't exit the app and reopen the video from history or where it's stored on the device, it sometimes doesn't play any audio (video plays fine). I try increasing the volume but nothing. After closing the app from recents and reopening, audio works again.
I have faced this issue on two devices -
Samsung Tab S9 Android 14 One UI 6.1.1
Nothing Phone 2a Android 15 Nothing OS 3.
Both running 3.6.2 right now.

Could you please share some logs? Reproduce the issue and then go to: Settings > Advanced > Debug logs. Then share the logs with the sharing service you prefer (Google Drive, Dropbox, pastebin...).

I have the same problem. I got a new Xiaomi mi 14T and first song is working good, but the next is always just noise. Either if i use playlist or just open one file after another. This problem was not present on my Xiaomi 10T.
I tryed downgrade vlc up to 3.5 and same problem. I disable hardware acceleration, same problem.

I'm really sorry for not getting back to you sooner with my log but here it is.
I followed the steps by playing the video, going back playing it again (no audio this time). Then I went to settings>advanced>debug logs and shared the log.

Could you go to More -> Settings -> Hardware Acceleration and disabled it please ? Does it still have this sound issue when reopening a video ?

Ok, I tried disabling hardware acceleration then closing and reopening the app to retry, playing the video → closing the video → reopening it. Issue persists, it has no sound on reopening

Hi, I wasn't able to reproduce this even with a Samsung S22 Ultra. Would you mind sharing a file that has this issue, please ? It might be related to the file format.

Unless I'm wrong it happens on every file stored on the device for me. x264, x265 (HEVC 10 bit files) have same problem for me. Are we allowed to share those files here? (If you know what I mean)
