sound is awful when using aux cable in car

Hello,
I have downloaded the lateset version of VLC from google play store but when I connect my phone to my car stereo using aux cable find that the sound from VLC player is awful it sounds like the audio has been cut up and it sounds all disjointed.
Is there a way to fix this issue.

Did you try with another app playing audio to see if this issue is specific to VLC?
