Album art appears and then disappears in app player UI

Hi,

As far as I can tell, VLC is the best music player on Android. But I'm having one problem. In the app's player UI, *some* album art is replaced with a black square.

I'll have a song up. It's playing, black square for album art. I then drag left or right. The next/previous song's art will start to show, correctly. But when I finish the drag, the art is replaced with all black and the song starts. Further in the album and song browsers, as well as in playlists, everything shows up fine. Heck, the album art shows correctly from the player widget. It's just in the app player UI, when a song is playing, that the album art becomes a black square.

And only some songs, not all.

This is version 3.5.4 from F-Droid running Android 14 on a Pixel 7 Pro.

What do I need to do to try to help figure out what's going on here so this can be fixed?

Does it happen with certain tracks or is it random? Where are your file stored (on your device or on a server)?

It's certain tracks, not all. Files are stored locally on the phone. Looking at one sample that has this problem with `file`:
