Unable to seek in a *.ts file at playback over SMB

Hi,
I can not seek in a .ts file over SMB.
I am trying to watch a .ts file from BluRay from my PC but streamed from my Nvidia Shield. I can't seek.

This bug is alive and well 7 years later.

Are you able to seek this exact same file if it's stored on your device?

Hi @Aza so Ive tested a few things and here are the finding
-Copying the file locally, I was able to seek perfectly fine. Issue is only streaming via samba
-The file is a .m2ts file.
-Im not sure the exact terminology, but I cant do what I believe is 'scrubbing' i.e. the +/- 10 sec forward/reverse with the left/right buttons on the remote. However, going ahead many minutes via the timeline slider works. I also cant manually hit the +/- 10sec buttons.
-Ive tried another piece of software, MXPlayer Pro, and it is able to do it. So I think its a VLC bug

Could you please share some logs? Reproduce the issue (failed seek) and then go to: Settings > Advanced > Debug logs. Then share the logs with the sharing service you prefer (Google Drive, Dropbox, pastebin...).

Sorry, but there is nothing useful in the logs. Could you please send another one just after trying to seek?

Im not sure youll find anything different this time as the methodology is the same
-clear logs
-start logging
-browse to smb share
-play file
-try and scrub forward and back
-stop logging
