m3u edits done in the player are not stored in the file

Postby Icke » 14 Feb 2024 19:41

When I removed tracks from an m3u playlist in the VLC player it is stored for VLC, but the actual file remains unchanged.

That makes editing pointless because I will lose all my hard work when changing the phone (I already did once because I never would have thought internal playlists can't be exported, so now I'm trying m3u). What can I do that the changes are written to the actual file?

Do I need to get another tool to listen to the playlist and thin it out?

VLC for Android doesn't indeed allow to edit playlist files. In general, custom playlists and bookmarks are not saved when the app is re-installed. This is something we want to do, but for now, you'll have to rely on another tool to do that unfortunately.

Interesting ! Any idea on what are some potential solutions ?
What about developpement timing, much more in months, or some years ? Do you have it on schedule, or does it depends on when some volunteer taking it over ?

Thanks for any orientation on how things work on the project!
