Can't find media

Hello ---- I am new to VLC on my android phone --- I copy several albums to my phone. I start vlc and navigated to title folder of the album --- now all the files in the subfolder are mp3 file and vlc said it could not find the media --- what did I miss?

You can see and play them in the Browse section. It may be that VLC cannot see them in the Audio section. (Browse and Audio are two of the five sections at the bottom of the screen.)

To see them in Audio, go to More > Settings and look at the first two settings shown on the home screen. You must either (1) Enable "Auto rescan" so VLC searches all local devices every time it starts, or (2) Specify "Media library folders" to tell VLC exactly where it is permitted to search for .MP3s. Click the square for a folder to allow that folder and all subfolders; or click on the folder name to enter the folder and select only some subfolders.

thanks for the info --- -I think that was it --- when I used the browse buttion in the vlc screen it was able to find the tracks
