How to show player controls PERMANENTLY (no auto-hiding)?

How can I tell VLC (v3.5.4) for Android to always show the player controls (at the bottom) and not auto-hide them ?

As far as I remember there was a setting in former VLC for Android version in

Settings--->Extra Settings--->Video--->Controls--->Video player controls hiding delay

But this does not appear in the current version any more.
Where is it now?

The video controls are now accessible while a video is playing, by tapping the three-dots logo. ("Controls settings" is near the bottom of the pop-up and may have to be dragged up into view if in Landscape.) The rightmost time setting is "Infinite".
