Gesture controls are missing in VLC on Android

I would like to disable volume gesture controls in VLC using these instructions from vlchelp (https://www.vlchelp.com/android-complete-guide/), but the "Controls" section is completely missing on my device. How do I disable the volume gesture controls?

Solved. It looks like the Controls were moved to the three dot menu ••• > Controls Settings. I found the gesture controls there.
