Video in upright format is played distorted and in landscape format by VLC for Android

Hi,

I have both VLC Player for Android and VLC Player for Windows. Now my problem is this: I recorded a video with my smartphone (Huawei P40 Pro just in case that matters) in upright format (portrait format). In VLC Player for Windows, this video plays just fine but in VLC Player for Android it is played in a distorted manner in landscape format (widescreen format). Other video player apps for Android that I have installed also play this video correctly but I prefer VLC Player. Videos that I recorded in landscape format are played in the correct orientation and without distortion by VLC Player for Android.

This is the video codec information shown by VLC Player for Windows for the video file that isn't played correctly in VLC Player for Android.

This is the link to the problematic video file. It is only 1:06 min in length and 162 MB in size, so it is not really that large. If this is still too large, please let me know which program which I could use to cut it because I am not experienced with that.

The video clips is supposed to show a short walk on a small forest trail from the first person perspective (in upright format).

Does anyone else have this problem when playing this file with VLC for Android?

It would already be interested in knowing just this because this would tell me whether it is most likely a problem with the settings in my version of VLC for Android or whether it is a general problem with VLC for Android.

@Eafle-Eye: I just tried your file and it doesn't seem to be distorted at all. Are you sure you are using the "Best fit" ratio? To verify, please long tap the "rectangle with arrows" icon at the right in the bottom player controls (the one before the 3 dots) and make sure "Best fit" is checked.
