Vlc changing name of file on android

After watching a video in vlc for Android identified the file name as (1_MTVFMmly.....).

When I look directly at the file on serving machine file is still the name given when encoded like ( bee.avi)

This is a known issue that will be solved in 3.4

Is this the same problem that I'm having? It's only started happening recently. I'll be playing a video file that had the correct name, a few minutes later, VLC stops playing, I go to the file again and it's now called a four number name. Some time later, another crash but no name change, this then happens more times as I finish playing the remainder of the file.
If I navigate to the file with anything other than VLC the name hasn't changed. I've tried a number of apps to interrogate the file to see if the number matches something but no go.
When is 3.4 expected?
