Movie name changing

I was hoping that someone could help me.

I am using vlc on nvidia shield. I have connected to my local network via my Plex media server.

It works fine but when I play any movie and stop it and go back into vlc the movie name has changed to file. Mp4.

I don't understand why this is happening and how to prevent it.

Any suggestions?

No ETA for fix which is surprising as it is a showstopper given that one-by-one, once played file names change to a string of text/numbers. For the time being I've moved on to Nova Video Player (app install on TV).
