VLC on Sony TV suddenly showing my videos in a weird way

Hi all.
so I've been using VLC on my Sony TV for ages perfectly fine to view all my content on my NAS.
Suddenly as of a couple days ago when I go into my folders all the TV shows that are on there seem to be named by file name only instead of title so for instance insted of 'episode name S01E01' it's some random number like 5642345.avi
Selecting to view by title instead of file name does not proper solve the issue.
Also some files in folders seem to be separated in a section denoted by a #
Whilst the rest of the files are all just jumbled up in a weird order.
Some also have little triangles in top right corner.

None of it makes sense.

Just wondering if anyone can possibly shed some light on this weirdness as I have no idea where I am on any of my series now as I can't figure out which files are which.

I've tried resetting the TV and my NAS and even reinstalling VLC but to no avail.

I'm not sure when our TV's will get a fixed updated VLC version; the TV downloads the latest version when it becomes available.

Is there anyway of finding out when this might be fixed and updated for TV as it is a showstopper? I sort of think VLC is not updated that often for the PC, but not sure about the Android version.

Is there anything I can do in the mean time whilst waiting for an update that might fix the issue?
As I am am part way through a number of TV series I have on my NAS but I have no idea what episode is next anymore?

Episode that were never played should have kept their right names.

Rich85 I'm now using Nova Video Player (app install on TV), it plays whatever I throw at it. It took me a while to get everything added to my library as the metadata scrape needed some manual intervention. You could try Plex but will need install on NAS and app on TV.

Intend to go back to VLC when it gets fixed, but of course no way to know if that is going to be weeks or months away as no control on which version the TV downloads (otherwise I would go back to previous version).
