Me not being the windows/Mac/Amazon type rather the Linux/Kodi/open source type my brother left an Amazon Cube for my 80 year old mother supposedly so she could just talk to it. She can not use it. Everything however seems to come at a cost also.
I thought that if I loaded for instance her Loretta Lynn music in a folder and said "Alexa, Play Loretta Lynn" that the Cube would play the music. Seems however I am driven to the Amazon streaming service and told to pay money where one Loretta Lynn song is played followed by other "similar" artists .
I had hoped that VLC might be a work around but that seems to not solve the problem either.
Also network folders to not show up from Kodi with playable content (stuck at spinning disc)
Is there a work around to get what I need?
I had never really looked at these Amazon products and this is precisely the reason why they almost never work as they should or could and only designed to promote revenue generation for companies like Amazon. What a total POS
