Stop Stream Ending when Switching Between Apps

Postby xojexa5934@uhtso.com » 22 Jun 2020 17:54

Hi everyone, not sure if this is the correct place to post this... It's meant to go to Android -> Streaming issues.

Whenever I stream a video, if I switch apps for even a second (VLC -> Signal -> VLC for example), the Stream not only stops (which is probably intended) but when I click on start, the stream PREVIOUSLY watched starts playing from the same time stamp. The same thing happens when locking the screen and then unlocking it and pressing play.
This really is horrible and makes streaming stuff extremely annoying as whenever you do anything that pauses VLC, you get put into a completely different stream. Then you need to go back and start the correct one and (again) change the settings to the correct values (play-spreed 1.25 for example).
I tried reinstalling VLC or deleting it's cache. Nothing worked.

Some other stuff that disturbes proper video-watching but might not be streaming-only:
1. When Going forward/backward by double-tapping, if the volume was above 100%, it'll get reset to 100%.
2. Volume amplification (on both Android and Linux/Desktop) is making the audio more distorted. The peaks get really loud and uncomfortable when going above 100%. If I use Linux Mint's built-in volume amplification, everything gets louder, but you don't fear for your eardrums or your speakers if the person in the video says "p".

Other than that, VLC is pretty well designed, keep up the good work!
