Deleting media from inside app - stuck in a loop!

i have just ungraded my SD card from 64 to 200gb, in a samsung tablet on android 10.

previous card i could watch videos from it and then the 3 dots on right of file (in VLC), select Delete and it would delete from card.. and i deleted things as i watched etc.

new card, i get a message when i try to do the same as ^ and it has a "show me" button with instructions to go to SD and click "select" which i do then it will sometimes delete the file (i select the ROOT folder of the SD) but then it does it again for the next file the "you need to give permissions, and show me button etc" and it keeps doing it. - from memory i think the old card did this once and then it remembered and i never had to give permissions or mess with it again.

any advice?

the card is good and works flawlessly.. as is the tablet.

Try this: Settings -> Apps -> VLC -> Storage
Then Clear Cache and Clear Data, and also Deny Access to External Storage folder/file, if any.
Notice that once done, you will have to set up VLC again including your media library.

that worked great, it asked once for the same permissions etc and then that was it.

Notice that once done, you will have to set up VLC again including your media library.

I have the same issue but i tried this it worked initially but the issue came back when i restarted my device .. do you any other suggestion sir!
