Can't select subtitle file after update (Android TV)

Postby Propi » 30 Dec 2019 21:21

Hi!
After a recent update (Philips 55PUS6561 android TV) the VLC app looks great, but can no longer support subtitles. I can click "Choose subtitle file" but can't actually select the .txt file - there is no highlight (highlighted file/filename) visible and the remote doesn't work the usual way. After some random button smashing I managed to actually click the file and could only open it as a sound (of all things). Which of course did not help my case. Is anyone else experiencing it and how can this be solved? Many thanks in advance!

I posted about this shortly after 3.2.3 came out but nobody every responded or mentioned that they had the issue so I assumed it wasn't a priority. I just turned off auto updates and side loaded the working 3.1.7. I won't be updating VLC again until something prevents 3.1.7 from working.
