no sound when streaming icecast radio stations to smart tv

Hi! New here! I really liked listening to the icecast radio directory stations on my google chromecast smart tv device. But now i have no audio when streaming them to my smart tv. Sometimes it will play for about a minute, but then nothing for sound. i reinstalled vlc on my pc and even downgraded to version 3.03. i have it the settings in vlc media player permanently set to render to my google chromecast tv. It goes to my tv and shows the splash page of the radio station, but no sound. When i copy and past the radiostation's url into my chrome browser i can cast it to my smart tv and it plays sound and all. Why does it not work when i do it thru the vlc interface? I can listen to all the radio stations when render is set to local...that is no problem, but when i try like i said to cast it to my smart tv the splash screen of the radio station is there, but no sound playing. Can someone help me with this thanks.
