Ugh! I've just downloaded the player for Android!

Postby Steamywee » 20 Jun 2018 00:49

I find this player by far the most difficult to use as an Audio player, which was my reason for downloading it.
It is totally unintuitive, there are icons without any form of identification, and I have been unable to create a simple playlist!
For "playlist" read everything in the music library with the exception of a few Ringtones, sound effects and Christmas songs, ...Oh yes and a couple of Audio books!

Surely there must be a simple way to achieve this with just a few taps??

I totally agree. Good program for nice video quality that always work but not intuitive and difficult to work with to listen to music and create lists. Surely there must be a solution that is easy?

Glad, or should I say sad to hear that I'm not alone in this.
VLC is still the "no brainier" for OSX, Windows, Linux and even IOS.
Shame it's so bad on Android.
Kumon VideoLAN, sort it out, ...please! :)

It scans your music automatically and sorts it by album, genre and artists. If you find that too hard, then I'm not sure we can do anything about it.

Not exactly "user friendly" and I can't for the life of me find any way to edit the file info, add details of the song writer, first release dates, add artwork.
Almost makes iTunes look like something from the distant future! :D

Not being able to edit info, and that's what you call "so bad"?

I tend to agree w/above comments about 'usability' of the VLC Android product versus the Windows version.
The Win version is exceedingly clear and easy to use, while having very extensive & powerful features.

Installed it as I thought it may play my old MP3's that my Google Pixel android thinks are copyright infringed, could not easily find how to set "random play" was hoping for a similar experience as in Windows and Linux and possible Mac (not a mac user) anyone know where the Android App "Music" can be found, I believe it needs to be installed manually, it's on a cheap phone and tablet i have, plays all my music .. I found it once at work on an android forum but was called away and was not able to find again, even scoured my history without luck, will ask on a Android forum and if I find a way to get it from my tablet or phone to my Pixel, I'll post back, it truly is a great music player for Android, it was one of the original players I believe.

People complain all the time that VLC on Windows is ugly, or bad UX.

And your post does not explain anything about what is missing on Android.

Launch the playlist, click on "random" button.
